CyberM8 Initiative NPC is proud to announce the establishment of its Advisory Council, a strategic governance structure that will provide independent guidance, expert insight, and strategic oversight to support the organisation's continued growth and impact across Africa.

As CyberM8 expands its programmes, partnerships, and advocacy initiatives, the Advisory Council will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the organisation remains responsive to emerging cybersecurity challenges, aligned with continental priorities, and committed to delivering sustainable impact. Drawing on expertise from the legal, cybersecurity, technology, government, finance, academia, and private sectors, the Council will advise on organisational strategy, governance, programme development, partnerships, policy engagement, and long-term sustainability.

The establishment of the Advisory Council reinforces CyberM8's commitment to good governance, collaboration, innovation, and accountability. By bringing together accomplished leaders from diverse disciplines, the organisation is strengthening its ability to drive meaningful change, foster strategic partnerships, and contribute to a safer and more digitally resilient Africa.

Commenting on the establishment of the Advisory Council, Mr Thabang Phala, Founder and Chief Empowerment Officer (CEO) of CyberM8, said:

"The formal launch of the Advisory Council marks a key Year Two milestone in CyberM8's Five-Year Strategic Plan (June 2025 – May 2030) under our Expansion and Institutionalisation phase. By convening a diverse panel of experts in policy, legal compliance, risk management, innovation, and business development, we are strengthening our governance, broadening stakeholder participation, and embedding independent oversight as CyberM8 scales its provincial footprint and prepares for regional engagement across the SADC. The Advisory Council will help translate our strategic vision into actionable guidance, provide early warning on regulatory developments, and ensure our programmes remain aligned with our strategic objectives. This is an important step in building an organisation that is accountable, sustainable, and positioned for long-term impact."

CyberM8 looks forward to working closely with the Advisory Council as it continues advancing its mission of building a safer, more cyber-aware, and digitally resilient South Africa.
